Facebook killed the blogging star.

The blogosphere has become a lonely place.  Blame Facebook I guess.  Anybody else getting a little tired of Facebook?

I was reading today about how they (Facebook Execs and academics) were messing with the number of positive or negative posts that would appear in your feed.  Then they would monitor whether or not you would follow the crowd and post in kind to what you were shown.  I think that's kind of sick.  Why mess with people's heads? How many people logged on to receive a pick me up from their friends and instead were shown a bunch of negative junk?  Jerk move.

I miss reading a post more than 3 lines long (or 140 characters).  I miss reading posts that were well thought out, and had substance to them.  Even if I disagreed with them,  at least I could understand where someone was coming from.  I miss thinking about something and telling people about it instead of 'sharing' the thoughts of someone else.   I miss blogging.

National Geographic Article of the Month: November 2010

Like my dad did, I have a subscription to the National Geographic Magazine. Unlike my father, I usually don't get around to reading it cover to cover each month.

I really like the NG and I find most every piece that appears in it interesting. I just don't feel like I have the free time to justify reading it in full. I usually end up reading only one or two articles, and just skimming the rest of the magazine.

Since a blog is all about sharing; I am going to share the article from each issue (if I get around to it) that I thought was interesting enough to merit a closer read.

Soooo.... Here goes.

November 2010: Japan's Ocean Wilderness

What it's about: Awesome Japanese Marine Wildlife.

Length Very Short.

Style of Text: Succinct overview of the photography project with poetic undercurrents (undercurrents haha).

Photographs: Absolutely amazing.

What I liked: Beautiful Photography. Probably one of my favorite subject matters. Did I mention the photos?

What I did not like: A little too short.

You can check the entire article and photos by following the link to the National Geographic Website.

Go here and read this. It may seem a bit harsh at first, but keep reading. I think in the end he made some good points. What do you think?

McRib

I love the McRib. I bought one last night, it tasted great. It also made me a little sick. Apparently mystery meat shouldn't be ingested when one is stressed out. (I've got a whole bunch of deadlines and stuff this week)

The experience didn't completely ruin McRibs for me... but I don't know that I'll try another one for at least another week or two....

Just For Zed.

I never did get around to posting a link to Tank's 18 month pictures. So in honor of the illustrious Zed's return, I thought I would post them now.

Enjoy the Cuteness. Welcome back Zed. You were missed.
