Good News

Hey all. I've been trying to find good news starring the average Joe/Jane. Its hard. You can find it about celebrities all the time. (probably because it is so rare for them individually, and partly because they tip off the press for their image. Most people don't.) And most of the news doesn't make it past the local level.

So in short. I need nominations for Human of the Week. But I know your busy. So whenever you hear something, hopefully you can think, "I should forward that to Sushiboy", and then do it. I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Congratulations to our esteemed winners for being fine human beings and for making the world a better place.

The voting was close and I'm not sure how to count Teri's vote, she said "Same for me, #3" (in reference to Superwoman's comment above?) So I'm not sure if she was voicing admiration for Dara and voting for Rosetta. So the above is what I came up with (counting my vote for Rosetta).

As it turns out... good news is hard to find. I will run this feature as often as I can find time to research these outstanding individuals.

Human of the Week #1

For the average Joe/Jane that goes out of their way to make our world a better place.

Nominee #1 Spanish Pilot reroutes take off to avoid flying relatives of crash victims over crash sight.

Nominee #2 OK so right now Dara Torres isn't your average Jane. But 6 months ago she was and a year from now she may be again. But I'm sure she'll keep up her amazing sportsmanship.

Nominee #3 Rosetta Ragusa is raising money to help orphans the world over.
