Just a fun little meme
I got this from my Big Sis.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Paper.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. Real trees are so sappy.
3. When do you put up the tree? Growing up we put up the tree on my Mom's birthday. I think we will have to change that to Tank's Birthday now.
4. When do you take the tree down? I like to take it down well after Christmas. Superwoman likes to have here living room back after the big day. We compromise somewhere in the middle.
5. Do you like eggnog? Yum. (If you mix it with a little OJ it tastes like a really strong Orange Julius)
6. Favorite gift received as a child? My big wheel and my first Lego set stand out. With the Big Wheel the parents awoke to me stuck in a corner (I was 3 or 4) bumping into the wall backing up a bit then plowing into it again. And when I was 7 or 8 I got a Lego set. I loved that thing.
7. Hardest person to buy for? No person in particular, but trying to remember to get everyone-who-is-special something can be taxing. I guess that is a good problem to have.
8. Easiest person to buy for? The Kids, I never grew up. I can instantly make myself think like a four year old and a six year old. The hard part is thinking like an adult.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Not personally, but Superwoman loves Nativities, so we have three or four up in the house.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Cards what cards? Whaddiya mean its December 17th already!? Well you'll get your cards late. If I get that far :( I sux.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I didn't like getting clothes when I was a kid. But I didn't get all pissed off about it. I just found the toys.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Probably Muppet Christmas Carol followed by National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and White Christmas.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually we start and are mostly done in September.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas Present? White Elephant Gift exchanges rule.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Sushi.
16. Lights on the tree? The more the better, a strand of white and as many color strands as the tree will hold.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Little Drummer Boy & I heard the Bells on Christmas Day.
18. Do you travel or stay home at Christmas? We drive around 100 miles or more Christmas day. But we start out and end up at home.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Rudolph the LED nosed reindeer, wazzit, hoozit, dancer, prancer, venison, deer jerky and blitzen.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning, and it would be afternoon if I could convince the kids to wait that long :)
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Finals
23. What theme or color are you using? Grey and Grey (j/k I'm not really red-green color blind)
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner. Ham, Stuffing, Potatoes.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Time with the family and friends.

Tagged By Big Sis, and the big weekend.
Now on to a meme that BigSis wanted me to do a while ago, but I had forgotten all about till just now. So here goes.
The Bucket List---- place an X by all the things you've done and remove the X from the ones you have not. This is for your entire life.
(X) Skipped school
(X) Watched someone die
(X) Been to Canada
( ) Been to Mexico
( ) Been to Florida
(X) Been on a plane
(X) Been lost
(X) Been on the Opposite Side of the Country
( ) Gone to Washington, DC
(X) Swam in the ocean
(X) Cried yourself to sleep
(X) Played cops and robbers
(X) Recently colored with crayons
(X) Sang Karaoke
(X) Paid for a meal with coins only?
(X) Done something you told yourself you wouldn't?
(X) Made prank phone-calls
(X) Laughed until some kind of beverage came out of your nose
(X) Caught a snowflake on your tongue
(X) Danced in the rain
(X) Written a letter to Santa Claus
(X) Been kissed under the mistletoe
(X) Watched the sunrise with someone
(X) Blown bubbles

( ) Been skinny dipping outdoors
(X) Gone to the movies
( ) Went Bungie Jumping
( ) Went Sky Diving
(X) Ever been Heart Broken
(X) Went Skiing - cross country
(X) Climbed a Mountain
(X) Played a Sport - Soccer and Basketball in middle school.
A second meme? ah well, here goes.
1. Any nicknames? Dad and Honey, Those count right?
2. Mother's name? Mommy, Miss you Mom!
3. Favorite drink? Coca Cola
4. Body Piercings? None
5. Tattoos? Nope
6. How much do you love your job? I like it. I get to write in code to a computer all day.
7. Birthplace? Denver, CO
8. Favorite vacation spot? Anywhere that isn't school or work.
9. Favorite place you have ever been? Northern Wilderness.
10. What is the Craziest thing you have ever done or want to do? Trying Haggis comes to mind, haven't tried it yet but would like to.
11. Ever been on TV? I think I was on the news when I was a kid, sitting in the front row of some school program. My family has been in the Newspaper many times because of the work my mom did with the mentally and physically disabled.
12. Ever steal any traffic signs? Uh... when I was growing up in Oregon a teenage kid pulled out a stop sign and waited till it caused an accident. The accident injured a mom and killed at least one of her kids, I was eight at the time and my memory is kinda shaky on the specifics, but not the horror of it all. I've never had the desire to remove any traffic devices because of that..
13. Ever been in a car accident? Yes
14. Drive a 2-door or 4-door vehicle? Family vehicle is a minivan 3 door. Normally I'm on the bus.
15. Favorite number? 4 soon to be 5 as our family grows again.
16. Favorite movie? LOTR trilogy is pretty good.
17. Favorite food? Sushi.
18. Favorite day of the week? Saturday
19. Favorite Season? I don't have one.
20. Dream Car? Lincoln Town Car
21. Number of Places you have lived? HMmm.... 1, 2..... 18.
22. How do you relax? Playing Wow while walking on the treadmill, reading, hanging with the fam.
23. How do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully enjoying life to the fullest.
24. Favorite Smell? wow, I'll have to think about that. I dunno.
25. Favorite Sound? The Cacophony that erupts after I say, "Daddies Home"! Both kids go nuts and the bird does too. I love that. Superwoman is happy to see me 99% of the time, but she doesn't tend to make as much noise about it (as we grown ups tend to not yell as much), but sometimes after I shut the door, she'll tell the kids, "I think Daddy is home" and that leads to the same eruption.
26. Favorite Color? Purple
27. Who will respond to this the fastest? One of the two people who still read this blog after the scandal gate post. LOL.
28. Furthest place you will send this message? As far as the internet will take it.
(Edit moved down from above) I didn't get the 'A' I was hoping for on my test. Hopefully the professor will have a bit of mercy on us. I doubt it, but I'm hoping anyway since I studied about 20 hours for this test alone. (It was too many details to get down in any amount of time. From what I understand, the professor who made up the tests {and used to teach the course} would give a lot of hints at which details would actually show up on the test. The professor standing in for the class doesn't do this. But insists on sticking exactly to the old professors grading system. So we get all of the drawbacks and none of the benefits to the old professor's style, it sucks) (Edit, I got the high score for the class, and the test will most likely be curved instead of grading off of raw score. Hooray!)
I spoke, (gave a mini 15/20 minute sermon) in church on Sunday. I didn't have time to prepare as much as I would of liked, but all things considered I think I did OK. Or so I hope.
I finished my programming assignment and a bunch of other random un-notables, and helped Superwoman get the dog off to a better home, where she would actually get the attention she deserved.
All in all I didn't do anything up to the standard I like doing things, but considering I got everything I needed to done, I'll take it.

Sushiboy A to Z
I recieved my final grades for the summer and I earned an A in Stats. I'm very happy about this A as I worked very hard for it.
Second I have been tagged by the sexy and wonderful Superwoman with the ABC's of me. So here goes:
Attached? Very. To Superwoman and extra glued by our two (soon to be three) rugrats.
Best Friend? Superwoman.
Cake or Pie? Uh, yuck. I like meat pies. I don't really go for sweet cakes and pies.
Day of Choice? Saturday. My day off. I try to have everything, homework, work, church stuff, all out of the way so I can have Saturday with my family or to myself. Occasionally yard work creeps in.
Essential Item? A large supply of cola.
Favorite color? Purple
Gummy bears or worms? Worms are a lot more fun to eat.
Hometown? Born in CO. Live in Utah.
Indulgence? Sushi, Cool Ranch Doritos, Bratwurst, Steak, Coca Cola, Salmon/Tuna
January or July? July, its hard to grill in January
Kids? Yes. Cookie Monster, Cakes, one in the oven.
Life isn't complete.... alone.
Marriage Date? Thirteenth of May.
Number of Brothers and Sisters? 2 Brothers, 1 Sister. My sister is the only one still living.
Oranges or Apples? Uh, tie.
Phobias? That Superwoman will die.
Quote? The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. -- Albert Einstein
Reasons to Smile? My wife and kids, home in general, good grades, a good meal, a good book and a good friend.
Season of Choice? Er uh, .... hmmm I'm not sure that I have one. I think it would be early winter and late fall. I love the time from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I love curling up by the fire with a warm blanket and good book and hot chocolate listening to festive music. That time sucks in college cause I usually have about 50 projects due, but if I can take the time to savor it, I think I like that time the best.
Tag Seven People? No .... I don't care to tag anyone right now.
Unknown Fact? I'd rather do something creative than I would math or science. I think that is why I like engineering because I get to build things and be creative, and I still get to use some other skills I'm good at.
Vegetable? Winter Squashes.
Worst habits? I can be really annoying. I have a sharp tongue, I can say some really cutting things.
X-Ray or Ultrasound? Ultrasound, lotsa happy memories there (very fun to see my babies). X-rays memories are mostly painful, (but it is cool to see my bones)
Your favorite food? SUSHI
Zodiac sign? Taurus - Not that it matters anyways.
There you have it! thank you and good day!

A Meme and some Fluff
I stole this from HoosierGirl.
| You Are Classical Music |
You are a somewhat serious person who enjoys studying subjects deeply. Art of all kinds interests you, and a good piece of art can really effect you emotionally. You are inspired by human achievement, and you appreciate work that takes years to accomplish. For you, the finer things in life are not about snobbery - they're about quality. |

6 unspectacular quirks
1. I don't like making eye contact. I'm not sure why. Something about it is uncomfortable to me. I have to make a very conscious effort to look at people when they are talking with me. Some days I do better than others. Maybe it has something to do with #2.
2. My interests are extremely geeky. I think I do well enough with interacting with the non-geeky in society. But when it comes down to me time. When I have complete control over a leisure activity, you can almost be certain it will be something geeky. It could be Magic: The Gathering (probably my favorite game of all time), chess, Comic Books, amateur radio, reading hardcore programming manuals (imagine reading a text book for fun), World of Warcraft and when I was a kid I read the encyclopedia for fun, now I do a crossword and whenever I run across something I don't know, I look it up and learn all about it.
3. I don't make close friends easily. I think it is because I am not a very open person. I never share too much about myself. I don't know if that is because it is uncomfortable to share things about me. Or if it is because I would rather learn everything about you. Probably a combination of the two. I'm definitely more open whith my blog than I am in person.
4. I freak out if I score less than a 90% on a test. I'm slightly distressed if I earn less than a 94%. I'm never really happy unless it's 100% or very close to it. I'll probably end up giving myself a heart attack if I don't chill out a little.
5. I'm 31 and going to college. At my old university I felt like a really old guy, at 26 I was always the oldest in my classes (other than the professor). At my current University I am rarely the oldest person in my class anymore. In my class that started yesterday I ended up sitting next to a widower in her late 40's early 50's. In my major there is a group of other guys about the same age as me, or a bit older. It's nice having some peers, not just a bunch of kids that think you're a geezer.
6. I have a quirky sense of humor. That would be a post in and of itself.
Edit: this reads a lot more negatively than I had intended. Just meant to be quirks, kinda sounds like I'm down on myself. I'm not really too down on myself (unless I score poorly on a test - LOL)

Nobody Likes Me.
I'm right on the line between ENFP and ENTP. Or as the test calls it a Scumbag or a Prick. Ouch.
Your Score: Scumbag- ENFP
70% Extraversion, 73% Intuition, 46% Thinking, 23% Judging
I have a feeling you're not going to like this much. Do I care? No.
How do I know? It's because you hate criticism. You love to be loved and you'll do anything to be accepted.
Unfortunately for you, I can see right through your insincere compliments and over-the-top greetings. No matter what you do, I'll always hate you for what you are. An arrogant, unstable, overly enthusiastic scumbag.
I bet you're pretty proud of your accomplishments, huh? You seem to achieve at whatever you put your little mind too. Trust me. Nobody likes the person who is good at everything. NOBODY LIKES YOU.
This might also have something to do with the fact that you're a cheating machine. You're just not the type of person to make long-term commitments. You enjoy seeing "what could be", rather than being satisfied with "what is." This, of course, means you often leave others in the dust while you seek out another lover.
Well, at least you're not the one left in the dust.
Unfortunately, when you're the one lying in the gutter with a bloody knife in your back, you might think differently.
Your Score: Prick- ENTP
73% Extraversion, 70% Intuition, 53% Thinking, 20% Judging
People love to hate you, because you love to argue. The strange thing is you probably took that as a compliment. Why, I bet you've already got a witty comeback all lined up ready to throw right back at me.
What you don't realise is that your inane obsession with debating pisses everyone off. Whatever happened to us all trying to get alone? I mean, you're so annoying people disagree with you for the damn sake of it! NOBODY cares about your abundant opinions. Trust me.
Believe it or not, but there's more to life than your expansive knowledge and sharp repertoire. When was the last time you showered? Brushed your teeth?
While you're up in Nevernever land, getting excited over future possibilities and your crazy theories, WE have to put up with your awful stench. I can smell you from here.
Your personality is ideal for that of a future lawyer and because everyone already hates you, you have nothing to lose.

My first Interview. I'm so excited.
Here are the results.
1. If you could make a guest appearance on any TV show, what show would it be? My gut reaction is Iron Chef America. It would be so fun to compete in or judge the food. I also wouldn't mind appearing on a morning show to plug a book I had written. Each is equally unlikely, but I can dream!
2. Does Superwoman have a blog? No. I keep trying to get her to start, but I don't know that she is actually interested in having her own blog.
3. What is the website you visit most frequently? I have a few sites that I visit once a day or so. I go to thinks.com and I do each of the three daily chess puzzles. I go to the World of Warcraft web site and waste even more of my precious time. I usually visit all the blogs on my sidebar too.
4. Other than sushi, what is your favorite food? Tough question. Probably meat off the BBQ. It's hard to beat a medium/medium-rare steak hot off the grill. A bratwurst grilled to perfection is also right close to divinity; I had three last night, my stomach still hurts.
5. Do you like green Jell-o? (As an interesting aside, Utah is known as the Jell-O capital of the world. We Moromons whip up a batch at the drop of that hat. In particular green Jell-O seems to show up at a lot of church functions and other get togethers. Green Jell-O is infamous for being paired with some 'interesting' ingredients like grated carrots and sour cream (yes sour cream). I think this why the question is being asked) I'm not really a dessert person. But as far as desserts go green Jell-O is ok by me, just as long as its mostly green Jell-O and doesn't contained some whacked out ingredient that the 'chef' wanted to get out of his cupboard. I don't know how some things get into the Jell-O, I suspect its a game for some people to throw some yucky ingredient in there and then see who will eat it anyway.
Thnx Nobody™ for the great questions.

A bit wacky, you're very difficult to predict. One moment you're in your own little happy universe... And the next, you're on a bad trip to your own personal hell! |
Sometimes these things are way off. Sometimes they are pretty close. This one is isn't too far off. -Sigh- Say it isn't so.

Word!
Diet - Yucky Tasting Soda and other disgusting and over-priced foodstuffs . Eating that crap just makes me feel ripped off. Then I want to eat something else. (and that would defeat the purpose wouldn't it?) Some people can't taste the difference, I certainly can. YUCK! I'd rather eat the good stuff, in moderation, and exercise. Which seems to work for me.Fluctuation - Electrons, I studied Electrical Engineering in school, (one of these days I'll finish) so all I see is electrons erratically orbiting an atom. (Say that five times fast, electrons erratically orbiting an atom, electrons erratically orbiting an atom ... )
Giggle - Little giggling girls, need I say more? Hangnail - Fingernail clippers. Owee! make it stop. If I get a hang nail, all I can think about is getting rid of the dang thing. I don't care how much skin it exposes, or how much pain it causes to snip it off. All I can think about is getting it off before it gets ripped off.
Gravity - Back to the Future. I don't know if you remember Doc saying, "Marty you keep mentioning how everythings heavy. Why? Is that what happens in the future, does gravity change?". For some reason this was really funny to my eight year old psyche when I saw the film way back in 1985. It obviously has stuck with me. I still get a hearty chuckle when I hear that line.So I hope you have enjoyed this snapshot of my head's innards. I would tag some other people but everyone I would tag:
- Doesn't Blog
- Has been tagged already
- Wouldn't enjoy doing it
