Grain Mill

Superwoman and I are in the market for a grain mill. Does anybody have any advice?

My mother-in-law once told me about one you can "power" by hooking it up to a bike. (Think real bike turned stationary bike.) I always thought I'd buy one of those if I ever bought a mill. Exercise + Food prep = Win!

Sushi Boy, I sent you an e-mail! We are HERE, in Utah! Where are you?

I don't know a thing about grain mills. I thought they were big old buildings along rivers... Mrs Nobody says you can get an add-on mill for a kitchen aid mixer.

I have a blendtec (try blendtec.com) and I love it! It's not just a grain mill, but grinds popcorn into fabulous cornmeal in a snap.

Good luck!

We have an electric one that we use for general use, like homemade wheat for bread and such. There's no comparison between store-bought wheat and homemade. And just in case a bomb goes off or something we also were given a hand one (That I wouldn't recommend). It does the job, but I'd hate to use it for anything other than emergencies.

L - Sounds cool. I'd like that one.

HG - Hooray, I hope to see you and TrknDde while you are here.

N - We have the kitchen aid one. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its brand (everything else we have that is kitchen aid is really good).

RLL - Blendtec? cool I'll look it up. Welcome, thanks for visiting and for the advice.

DG - The one you linked had a lot of stuff that Superwoman is interested in. Like large capacity and covered bin (so the flour doesn't go everywhere) How noisy is it?
