PROMISE 4
A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and biblical values.
Now I know that everyone makes mistakes. But affairs, those are real doozies, especially when you claim to be candidate that stands up for traditional morals. Everything I can say about him, I've already said above. The dude is scum.
Both of these men either spoke out against Clinton's affair or belonged to groups which spoke out against Clinton's affair. They, or so they claimed, were on the Moral high-ground.... Ah the Moral High Ground, If you are there why not stay there? If extra-marital affairs are bad when Democrats are doing them, aren't they at least as bad (i.e. much worse) when Republicans are doing them? If the GOP professes to be the party of Christian values, then the GOP shouldn't tolerate it's members screwing around out side of marriage, period. Taking the more secular path, If the GOP wanted Clinton to step down because of his affair, why isn't it calling it's own members to step down when they make the same idiotic blunder? (Both Parties are just as guilty as each other on this)
There is the Christian vote, the black vote, the latino vote, the NASCAR vote. Politics seems to be divided into racial, religious and other forms of pandering. These men are classic examples of the pandering to the Christian Vote. "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves" (Matt. 7:15) They looked the part, but sure didn't act it. In this world of sound bytes and buzzwords how do we cut through the crap and see who we are really voting for? How can we avoid voting in these types of people?
Did these men start out as ravenous wolves? Or did they start out all right and get corrupted along the way? Should we have seen it coming? My Democrat friends will say, duh, they were Republicans, of course you could see it coming. For my rebuttal to that, see the first Scandalgate post.
My opinion is that both of the major parties are too big and too entrenched into the Washington system of loose morals, loose ethics and loose promises. They all stand for values, until they think no one is looking. Charm, Charisma and Slickness seem to win out over Manners, Competency and Honesty. I don't think we value "Acting Presidential" over "Looking Presidential".
The fact that Mark Sanford's name was getting thrown around for 2012 scares me. Mark Sanford had the presidential image, but he certainly didn't have the presidential conduct. I'm glad he is out of the running. I'd take Harry Reid over Mark Sanford (and coming from me, that is saying something).

JustDave got one, too.
I don't have anything important to say; just wanted to stop by and say hi!

Man, that Rita gets around!! She was over at my place, too - 3 times!
Have you heard about Rick Pitino, the coach at the University of Louisville? A woman was trying to extort money out of him, he ran around acting like "what a loon, she's crazy!", and NOW he admits he had sex with her and paid for her abortion. Oh yeah, SHE'S the crazy one!
J.
Yes, I heard about that. It made me a bit sick. Perhaps I could do a 'sports' edition of the scandalgate post. But I don't know if I could post often enough to keep up :)
I find that if you're from the other party, you always talk trash about each other. Politicians, in general, are scum. They think that the laws don't apply to them and they have all the freedom and power in the world, to do anything.
Well said Teri.
Well said, O SushiMan. Well said!
