It's Over

So I'm done mourning the end of the Harry Potter Series. I might actually start posting again.

I just wanted to say a few things about the books.
  • Nitwit, Oddment, Blubber, Tweak
  • Dumbledore is still my hero
  • I never stopped trusting Snape (for good or ill)
  • Hermione is the type of friend everyone should have, and that everyone should try to be
  • Good will always beat evil
  • Family is a kingly gift meted to all, value yours
  • Harry Potter Rules
In other news I'm getting ready to go back to school in the fall. I will continue to work full time. I'm a little hesitant to give up my free time. Hopefully I don't have to give up too much family time with it.

I still havent started mine yet, I was reading 2 books when it came. I am going to read it this weekend.

Congrats on going back to school. I am glad I did that when I was young (Thanks mom and dad) cuz I cant sit through a meeting without falling asleep much less a lecture.

Mel - You'll have a great weekend it's a great book. I'm a little nervous going back at thirty. I think I'll do fine learning new things, its remembering all the Calculus and Circuit Theory I took 5 years ago (that are pre-reqs for my current courses) that I am really starting to worry about.

Sushi--
I'm glad you're done with the Harry series!

Maybe I could coerce you into commenting on mine as soon as I get the fortitude to post the first chapter

I'm thrilled you're going back to school!

Gee... I wonder why, says that woman who managed to make a full-time lifetime career out of going to school!

You will find the time and the balance to make it work! It will be a tough lot to juggle initially, but eventually you will find a groove

Let me know if I can help in any way!

Thx for the encouraging words Dr. Mom, I'm a little nervous.

I cannot tell you "do not be nervous" because that would work in adversity to your goal

You need to feel that sense of anxiety as a motivation

You also need to feel the anticipation of the unknown until it is familiar

What I can tell you is that it WILL work... be patient and DO NOT GIVE UP!!

I am among 1% of the U.S. population who holds a doctorate. There are many many more who enter the program, and just never finish, we call these folks "ABD" all but dissertation.

Keep your eye on the prize, make sure that you can always see why you are doing this. Communicate your vision to your family, often, to make sure they're on board. I can give you study tactics if you like that will minimize interruption and maximize family time.

Let me know if this can help-- you have my email if you need it!

You'll be okay Sushiboy. I've faced schedules such as that in the past and was certain I'd never be able to do it, but found it's just a "head" adjustment. In other words, you sort of have to wrap your head around the change in schedule--and once you do that, it all works. You'll see.

I'm almost finished, Sushi.

Harry just ran into Snape and the snake, if you know what I mean?

Zed - Heh, Head adjustment. I like the verbage.

Teri - Oooh you getting to the best part of the book!
